Title: Lt70 hydraulics quit working
Post by: just_sawing on February 10, 2013, 08:01:42 AM
Thursday had my hydraulic unit quit on my lt70. It just quit by starting to work on one direction.
Contacted wm and we decided that it was the main valve. 23 hours later mew part there and oops no help.
With the help on Ron @ wm figured out that the mill had worked for six years with the return filter plumbed backward. Switch the filter out and switch the lines I am back up.
I really appreciate WM tech support. The rest of the story is I am a hydraulic tech and this had me stumped.

I believe that this stump was justified.

I'ts nice to have a number to call where you actually talk to a human and they know what's going on.

This has been a trip but here is the outcome
1 Hyd quit Hyd oil filter stopped up
2 Replaced filter found that the Filter housing was plumbed backward
3 Found that the soliniods for the hyd dropped out
4 Repaired all but found that the schematic provided was in error for my setup rewired the soliniod
5 Started to word only to have the system brown out
6 Found that the 190 amp Alternator was only putting out 12.5 volts
7 replaced the alternator to have the system not start. Motor turns fine but does not start
8 Ordered a Fuel shut off and cut the plunger off so the system would start.
9 The lub system has stopped working even after I cleaned the filter. Blew the lines and all is well
If it wasn't for some fine advice from WM it would have been worse but except for the shut off (ON ORDER) all is fixed. It has taken on average 24 hours for WM to get me parts from Indy to Woodbury TN

Is this a mill you got from someone else, or if not how did this stuff happen?

Bought it new.
Replaced the filter last year
I could augur that all stemmed from the filter plumbed backwards but nothing to prove.
