Title: western pa. eastern ohio gtg
Post by: turbo885 on March 08, 2013, 09:43:35 AM
Wayne twp. volunteer fire dept. will be having a get together april 13.
adress is 5153 ellwood rd. ellwood city pa 16117. Just outside of ellwood city on rt. 65(this is about 10 miles from where wampums gtg was.) Food and beverages will be avaliable from the dept. some contests and raffles are also planned.

I will supply the wood and loader. I will also have some big logs for the big saws and long bars to cut.

This is a volunteer dept. so a small donation to them will be appreciated as it costs a lot to keep it running. if this works out for them there can be more GTGs there. If you have any suggestions or questions let me know. thanks BILL

Sounds like a great time. From working with firemen for years, I can attest to their cooking skills. The next best thing to granny is a fireman! Always great food. If I were around i'd sure drop in for a hello. I grew up in SE Ohio, and often revisit the folks there, will be spending a lot of the summer there. But not by April. Yall have a good time & post up some pictures.

Sounds like a great time. ;D  Take a few pictures of the action. It takes time to get something like this going. Did you contact the local paper to do a story??

Unfortunately I'm reading this on the 14th. We're there any logging activities at the event?

it mostly was just running a lot of saws and some saw racing with quite a few contests mixed in. there were some real nice older saws there.          BILL

i didn't get time for any pictures most of my time was in the loader setting up logs to be cut. unfortunately the local paper is a joke they got bought by another paper a few years back and really went to pot.Everyone seemed to have a real good time and were happy. they may have another one in the fall      BILL
