Title: Corian
Post by: uplander on April 01, 2013, 09:08:53 AM
Does anyone know how to buy Corian so I can make my own counter tops? None of the counter top manufacturers in my area will sell me the raw unworked material.
Does Dupont have a policy of not selling to individuals?

By the way, the cabinets and counter bodys came out great! The Poplar off my mill looks awesome.
That raised panel cutter was a little scary though. Looked like it would really tear you up if you got a hand into it.

Pictures coming if I ever get a computer that I can install some photo reducing software on.

You probably don't need photo reduction software. The forum software will reduce pics to the proper size and upload to your pic gallery. Don't try to attach a photo to a post, they must be stored in your photo gallery and embedded in your post.

You can buy it from (  http://solidsurface.com/  ) I bought some from them and had it shipped to the nearst trucking depot. You can use woodworking tools with it, the only tool I had to buy was the double barrel glue gun. Make sure to order some extra mixing tips as the glue hardens quickly. I'll try to post pictures of the kitchen we installed at my daughters place.

Punch in Quarrystone.com  They have many colors and have sink bowls in all the colors .  The sheats come in thicknesses up to 1.5 inches . I used 1" on mine . it is a little heavier but fabrication time is reduced because you do not have to glue up an edge. Their resin is of a higher temp than corian . That makes it harder to bend but saves your butt if you set a hot pot on it . takes more temp to scortch. They are in Wisconsin.Happy to do custom colors .
