Hi, I am Martha Nelson and I am writing about my brother, Andy White. He can't post, read threads or reply to anything. Is there anything you can suggest to him to get going again??? He is totally lost without the forum. He is a full member, & I am a new member.
Can you contact him any kind of way and help him get back on???
Thank you so much,
Martha Nelson
Is he laid up, or is his computer kaput?
You've given us no real information on his problems, so have no idea how to help. We will certainly help if we know where to start.
Andy white was on yesterday. He posted Yesterday. There are no errors in our logs under his name or I.P. address showing any failed login attempts or any problems of any nature.
I understand from what I read as he is in some way not being able to log on the forum today..... I had that happen last night also, it lasted for well over an hour. I blamed the stars and satelites and clouds ::)
isawlogs, was that around 10 last night? That's when it happened to me.
OK guys, just talked to him on the phone. He is still not able to get logged on. He can type in his user name, password, etc., but then a screen pops up and says enter a user name, password, etc. over & over again. Yes, he was logged in on his computer at home yesterday. He is at the lake with his laptop and that is where he is having the problem. He has always been able to use his laptop while he is at the lake, so now he can't figure out what's going on.
Thank y'all for your responses,
Martha
I'd say he isn't connected to the internet, or he is working off line on his browser looking at caches pages. I've looked at the logs again, and there is absolutely no trace of him having been connected to the Forestry Forum since yesterday. If he tried to login and failed, there would be an error. There are no errors from Andy White or from any I.P. he has ever been connected to the forum with.
He probably is having troubles with his browser, most likely Internet Explorer. Have him try Firefox or some other alternative.
I am having the same type of problems with Internet Explorer with signing on to secure sites or sometimes interacting with anything under secure sites. I just switch to Firefox and the problems go away. Not sure what is the problem with IE but it does exist.
Yes Ray, that is about the time it happened to me. :-\ Do you have a satelite connection ???
No just dail up. Seems to happen just about the same time for some odd reason. Happens once every 2-3 weekd. I just tell the wife,it's telling me to go to bed. I was just about to post about that too.
Thanks all for your replies. Much appreciated!!!
I see where Andy has logged on, so all must be OK.
Andy, hope you are up & going now!!
Send him a PM....
