Helping his friends with logs for the sawmill in November. Six months later he is gone.
Today, I got a call from the friends of the young man standing on top of the log working the chainfall. He lost control of his truck Saturday night and was killed. This week will be a sad one for Hilliard, Florida.
One of the boys joined the service and they were all celebrating. This boy had too much and was driving. He passed his friends in the night going very fast. They missed him at another stop and came back to find that they had driven right past his accident. He left over 200 yds of erratic skid marks before leaving the road and hitting a pine tree in the edge of the woods. Killed instantly, according to the officials.
His friends told me he was known for his fast driving and seldom drove less than 95. That's where his cruise control was set. They tried to slow him down but he wouldn't listen.
Kids, Don't drink. Don't drink and drive. Don't drive with a disregard for your life, it is too short already and people, who you should out-live, will miss you.
I am very sorry for your loss, Tom. :'(
Sorry to here the sad news big guy. :'( Sometimes its just hard to get through to them.
I had the opertunity to meet 3 of my summer students this weekend, at the trade show, they worked with me over the years. Two of'm with babies and the other a girl friend, all early twenties. They were all good fellas to work with, and are doing fine. :)
Sorry to hear about your loss Tom.
Sorry to hear that. Will pray for his family.
I don't know what to say other than I'm sorry it happened. I always hate to hear about accidents cutting someones life short, especially someone that young. I will say this, I'm glad his accident didn't involve other innocent people. What a loss.
Words are never adequate to express one's feelings about news like that. I know the sort of anguish his family feels, and my thoughts and prayers are with them.
Thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends. Words are little comfort for the loss. Sorry to hear about it, especially so young.
I'm very sorry to hear about this. It just does not make any sense for kids to die young. There is so much that they don't get to do.
Sorry to hear about your frend Tom, Whenever I hear of something like this it makes me realize how lucky I was.
