Title: busy day on the water
Post by: snowstorm on August 04, 2013, 08:07:08 PM
really nice day today mostly sunny in the 70,s. so we went for a little boat ride from belfast to camden. wasnt long before i could hear the coast guard on ch16 talking to a sail boat that was taking on water. then an hour later it was a diver lost or over due in rockland harbour. the coasties broadcast that ever half hour all afternoon. i dont know if he was found or not. when we left camden there was a small sail boat being towed in. it was sitting pretty low in the water. then the cg is saying they have a 32' sail boat in tow. ( the one taking on water) coming into rockland and for everyone to get out of the way.they were bound for oharas travel lift. some days the radio is pretty quiet but not today

Not the kind of stuff you really look forward to hearing on the radio.

Good thing we have people (helpers) like the Coast Guard!
