Dessicant based dehumidifiers are different from refrigerant based dehumidifiers and are not good for lumber kilns. They use a great deal of energy, even more than conventional heat and vent kilns, and the dessicants often do not work at much over 100F. This type of dehumdifier is designed for very low dew point applications where a refrigeration system would not work.

Thanks Don, that takes care of that. I'm glad I didn't go ahead and haul it off, it was free anyway. I would have more useless junk lying around. ;D
