How about an "Intro" Dan R and tell us about your sawing/log/lumber/woodworking interest. Oh, and Welcome to the Forestry Forum.

I did not know they had security stuff on here but I will say I am glad they do. I would also like to say that this is best, cleanest web site I have been on and I would like to extend my gratitude to all whom are responsible for running such a wonderful, clean, and informative site. Thanks a bunch.
Thanks for the quick reply on the Profile question. I'm located on the west coast of British Columbia 80 miles north of Vancouver. I share a Woodland mill with my Son and a couple of Buddies. Nothing more than hobby sawing to be able to use the wood ourselves that we saw. I ran a WM mill back when I was 20 and think I caught the sawing Bug then. I cut 90 squares of 24 inch red cedar shingles on that WM along with 8 inch bevel siding. If i figure out how to post pictures I will put up photos of the mill on the trailer we built for it. I have mounted a 24 inch Digimag scale in the place of the ruler for more accurate cutting. It reads in 1000 ths of a inch. Call me anal if you wish but the boards are sized right. I also read with interest the modification's some folks have made to improve their mills. I'm looking at adding two hydraulic log clamps.
Thanks again for the qiuck reply.
Welcome Dan! Iam 80 miles south of Vancouver
Welcome to the forum, from 25 miles west of Vancouver. :)
Did you figure out how to add pictures yet DanR? (I'm the son he metioned above) I added some pictures of our mill to a gallery. Enjoy. Hello Everyone.

Welcome to the Forum, DanR
Welcome to The Forestry Forum Dan and Brent! Lots of good ideas here for upgrades to your mill.
FYI, there's a "Behind the Forum Board" to find answers and post questions pertaining to issues with the forum. When you're ready to post some pics, start a new topic here so future "searchers" can find them. :P
Welcome to the Forestry Forum Brent. This may be a first with a Father/Son both joining at the same time. smiley_thumbsup smiley_thumbsup
Make one more trip to your profile and make your gallery icon appear as a camera. If you need help, just ask. Questions are properly asked and answered in the "Behind the Forum" board.
BrentRobinson and Dan R welcome to the forum.
BrentRobinson, this is for you on pictures. I saw them in your album, the hard part is over.
I like to go to whatever post or start a new topic first to include a picture.Go to your gallery,it will open in a new window.Click onto your album, then click onto whatever picture you want,it will get bigger, than scroll down a little to find,Insert Image In Post, click onto that, click Yes and that is it. Some have to copy/paste the link to work.I like to hit the enter key at least once or twice to move the picture down away from what I am typing. The enter key really helps to leave some white space if posting more than one picture. Somewheres I think it says to add 10,000 to your user number or something like that to make a clickable icon to your gallery under your user name. Use the preview button to see how it looks and modify it if needed.
Welcome to the forum.
Welcome to The Forestry Forum, Dan and Brent!

Hi, Dan & Brent. Welcome from 9 hours to the east of you ;D.
Welcome to The Forestry Forum, Dan and Brent. Glad to have you.
I was wondering why I couldn't see other members' profile. Now I know. I have been lurking on this site for the past year. I don't own or operate a sawmill, yet. I have had some logs milled into lumber by a sawyer that lives nearby. I am a hobby woodworker and didn't want to see mesquite and pecan trees go to waste, so I have been grabbing what I can and creating a stash of lumber for projects. I was fascinated by the sawmill the first time I watched the sawyer operate it and want to give it a try someday. I enjoy reading the posts on FF and am gaining valuable information that someday I might use. Thanks everyone for the great posts.

Good to have you join in on the fun.
Pull up the stump and enjoy and contribute to what you can.
Hello QueBenz. You have been a FF member longer than I have, but I guess that I can still say Welcome. ;D
QueBenz, welcome to your first post. ;D Start saving your quarters.
Well I got the little camera to show up under my picture, You should be able to see our mill/trailer now.
Quint...welcome. If I had a steady supply of mesquite and pecan, I'd be using it to cook all my food, and make lumber with any leftovers... ;) :D
Thanks for the welcome, everyone.
MM: Evidently, I registered with the site a few years back. Just now getting back to the forums.
5quarter: All I can say, is nnnnnnnoooooooooo!!!!!! Cook with the leftovers. :)
