Title: Stem cell and platelet therapy
Post by: petefrom bearswamp on March 18, 2014, 02:34:26 PM
I have been hearing about the stem cell and Platelet injection procedure for rebuilding cartilage in knees.
Both of my knees  complain with every step.
Anyone out there have any information on this stuff?
Has anyone had it done?

Pete, Let it be known....I know absolutely nothing about this subject.

However, my Dad had both his knees replaced. They said his pain was coming from floating cartilage and the floating cartilage is what caused his knees to wear out....sort of like sand paper grinding away at the joints.

When they opened up his knees.....the Dr. had to vacuum all the chips out.....1000's of them before replacement could begin.

I am unaware of replacing cartilage by injection......but I do know from what I've learned, all the junk that is floating, needs to be removed.
