Title: Michigan folks, what about the thumb?
Post by: Saki on July 01, 2004, 07:54:59 PM
Greetings all. have not posted in a while but was curious about Michigans thumb area. About the furthest east I have vacationed is the bay city/saginaw/frankenmuth area. Anybody got info on a favorite spot further east on the thumb that we should take in on a future trip? We love campgrounds with electric sites near the lakes like those at Brimley State Park, anybody know if there are any in the thumb? Good lighthouses, museums, etc. Thanks for any info, saki.

Albert Sleeper State Park is 55 mi. east of Bay City.  Some of the guys at work camp there and recommend it. Here is a link.  http://www.michigandnr.com/parksandtrails/ParksandTrailsInfo.asp?id=494
