what type of mill would be required to cut a burl with a circumference of 10'6". or is there such an animal. I am trying to avoid attacking this with a chainsaw.
thanks ahead

That will require over a 40" cut through the widest part. To get full width cuts, you would need a chainsaw mill, or a band mill with a really wide throat. I've cut some burls with the Wood-Mizer that were too wide. I trimmed them up a little to fit, but did not have full live edge on the widest pieces.
Attacking it with a chainsaw slabber is different that attacking it with a chainsaw. LINK (https://forestryforum.com/board/index.php/topic,73961.msg1141954.html#msg1141954)
thanks gents, I didn't realize Lucus was a chainsaw mill, I'll ask around to see if someone has one in this area.
