Trying to find the serial number on a Timberjack 240A skidder. Cable machine; Deutz engine. The usual tag in the step area is missing; just four nibs are left where it was riveted or spot welded. Is there any place else on the frame or whatever where the number might be stamped into the machine?
Really sure the machine is not stolen. It was bought used from -- or through -- a dealer several years ago, and no issues were brought up. Any help on this would be appreciated. Cell phone number is 802-five five eight-8161 if you'd rather call.
Thanks.

No, I don't think so. You may be able to date it off id plates on parts.
up in the cab...on front....or down below your feet.....or send me a pic of it, i will come close....5187757619my number...
On my timjack which is a 77, the serial number is stamped into the metal right about where your right calf is sitting in the seat. if they machine has been repainted you may need to scrape the paint off to see it
you may be able to get the info if only very little from the motor serial #
