Title: broken seat
Post by: MUDDY on June 11, 2014, 06:51:11 AM
The shock on the seat of my Valmet 644 took a $#!* last week and I'm really having trouble locating a new one.  Right now I welded the seat so it is fully upright at all times to not interfere when I spin, but it is a rough ride. The seat is a Grammer and the shock # is 117285.

If anyone has any tips on where I can locate one it would be greatly appreciated.  I'm having troubles just getting ahold of Grammer, which is located in Germany.  I've tried having Napa, car quest, and the local Case IH dealer try to locate one but with no luck.

You might be able to cross-reference something by dimension from either Sachs or Bilstein.  They make dampers and struts for all sorts of purposes.

i asked the valmet dealer about parts for my grammer seat. said they couldnt get them. but they could get a new seat for $1500. have you tried looking at one in a bostrom or national. they make truck seats. most are air ride but they all have shocks
