When u guys lay a log on the deck of a portable mill do u lay the but of the log toward the saw head or the top :S
Both ways and no big deal, but my preference is the small end toward the saw head. It makes log setup easier and quicker.
The exception is large and over sized logs. In this instance, I want to be sure that the blade guide will clear the log.
Both ways.
I am ambidirectional :D.
I prefer to start with the small end,
I saw both ways, but I prefer the small end toward the saw head. And I prefer to saw towards me, unless I'm working alone. Then I place my set works so that I am sawyer and tailer ;)
I like the small end towards me. I always seem to forget to lower the far toe board if i saw the other way.
