Title: LT40 with new Power Tilt Bevelsider
Post by: prittgers on August 10, 2014, 11:50:14 PM
A good friend of mine asked for some additional video of my power-tilt BevelSider.  You can see it at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJ7lHfRUPkM&feature=em-upload_owner

The Set works were programmed to drop 11/16 of an inch each time we pushed the down button. The BevelSider is placed in the down position for the first cut. Then the second cut requires a drop.

We are using a Wood-Mizer LT40 Super with Accuset.  Their new SimpleSet is also easy to use.

This log produced over a dozen nice pieces.  At 12 ft long, and at $.85/ft there is $122.40 in revenue just from those 12 pieces.  And, there is always a nice, flat, square 2x on the bottom.

I'm very interested in what you think of this machine.  There are some small improvements that will also make it easy to transport in ON the mill.

Cheers

I apologize for not mentioning that this unit is built and sold though my little company.  We are speaking with a manufacturer of high end portable saw-milling equipment about building these.  They are a reliable firm which has no equal in terms of quality and reliability.  We're confident that they will be everyone's choice for the main source of these exciting attachments.  Until then, you can email me for a quote and photos.

Be sure to watch this little video.  It shows how consistent the boards are by showing the end view of the cut pattern.

That's a very nice looking unit!!  I do hope that you pay the forum its 5% on any orders you get through the forum.  You should probably move this to the for sale section IMHO.

That sounds like good council (a sale area on the Forum).  I don't really know much about the forum.  It is totally interesting to communicate with others about this great lifestyle!

Right now you are in the Sawmills and milling section of the General Forestry area.  Hit "The Forestry forum" set of words just above the Lucas mill Distributor sponsor add.  That will take you to the main page, scroll down that page until you see the commerce area.  Click on the for sale section.  Then read the rules and agree if you do.  Hope you can follow all that  :D

I find that when using the lap sider attachment the two boards that contain the pith don't make good wall boards and just bump past that cut and leave a flat board, to bad can't find a way to hold the cant lower to leave a 1" rather then a 2", the 1" could be used for door and window trim what do you use 2" for on a siding project?
The big advantage of the power tilt is when you are sawing alone other wise the helper can made the tilt by the time the saw is ready.

rules are rules we all got to abide by them ;)

does anyone know how to become a 'sponsor' like a service provider or manufacturer?  Who is the main person to ask questions like this?  Parker
