Title: Hollow black gum tree fire
Post by: hackberry jake on September 02, 2014, 07:53:55 PM
We had a dead black gum tree next to the pond that has been making us nervous for a while. We took it down the safest and easiest way possible.

Looks like a bad case of creosote build up. That's some chimney fire.  :D

I am glad you shared that. I have always wanted to do it but just never did. Did it burn to almost nothing? I bet there was hardly no mess at all.

That was pretty good, y'all shoot anvils there too?  That's on my bucket list.

The only remnants are some ashs scattered around and a small half burnt hickory that was next to it. I have never shot anvils, but would like to try it!

We burnt a huge pin oak at my grand parents homeplace that way once...  3 of us couldn't reach around this thing and it was hollow and had been dropping limbs for awhile.   It was a pile of coals the next day.
