Title: glueing joints
Post by: Woodbilly on October 19, 2014, 03:11:23 PM
Got a mate who wants a frame made to use as a pergola, no roof. I am thinking of gluing the joints with gorilla grip to help keep the moisture out, is there a for and against? been trying to find some info on here but cant seem to find an answer, any information is appreciated.

How will "gorilla grip" help keep the moisture out?

By gorilla grip, do you mean urethane glue? That will wick moisture into the joint, I would think. Best to design your joinery to shed water the best you can, and use a rot resistant species.
