Title: Duane Moore
Post by: old3dogg on August 04, 2004, 04:16:48 PM
I just got an e-mail that said Duane has passed away.
Please tell me it isnt so.
You would not believe the hard time that this man helped me through.
May God bless him and his family.
Why are all of the good ones taken from us so early?
I need to log off now.
RIP Duane.
Mike.

I surely do hate to hear of this.  Duane, even though we never met was my Buddy, and was ALWAYS making me laugh, and feel good.   I always looked for him to come driving up one day.  As you said, "May God bless him and his family"

For anyone that don't know, Duane was quite a character.  Here's a link to a thread that me and him, and others played with for quite a while.  Even though it was absolutely inappropriate Jeff let us get away with it and it was a lot of fun back in the winter.

I put some contact information in the full members section. Tammy is on the phone now to Ca to send some flowers from his Forestry Forum Friends. It will simply say:

From your Forestry Forum Friends. We will miss you Duane.

When I first found this forum, it was Duane's humor and good nature that caught my attention. He helped create the atmosphere that Jeff has worked so hard to nurture here at FF.

Farewell, Duane. Godspeed.  :'(

I was hoping it was his birthday.

Duane, you will be missed.  Gone is the author of some great posts, and generator of a bit of mischief.  Added together, they made for one valuable asset the forum will no longer have.

So long, to a friend I never met.

Mark

When I came on the Forum this morning I saw Duane Moore's picture on the forum header and thought, uh oh.
Although, I never got to know Duane as much as the rest of you folks I do remember he was a fun loving and jolly type of fella. As I have posted a few times before it is guys like Duane that make the forum even more fun. Everyone that knew Duane on the Forum will surely miss a piece of this place. My condolences to his family and close friends and may he rest in peace. Thanks for sending the flowers on the Forum's behalf, Jeff and Tammy.

Yep, he was a fella full of jocularity.  :D As I mentioned in the other post, I had hoped, very much, to have spent some time with him at the Oregon Logging Conference this last February.  I feel I missed out on having had a fun time with a neat person.  His humor and wit, as well as his insight will be missed.  His family and friends have lost a fine man.  Our prayers here, go out to his family.   :'(

When we hadn't heard from him in awhile I was hoping it was because he was traveling and hoped to see his motorhome pull into the driveway for a visit.

When logging in this morning I saw Duane's picture at the top and thought something was up. At first I thought it was his birthday. Then I thought maybe he went over the edge with his sillyness.
I am saddened to here of his passing. My condolences to his family. He will be missed both at home and here on the Forum.
I always thought he was one of the more silly characters we have here.
Jeff thanks for sending the flowers on our behalf.

I will miss his wit, excellent memory and advice, and the way he expressed goodwill to all.  Duane was a rare bird.  He will always fly high, with an occasional dipsy-doodle, in my mind.
I too was hoping to meet him in person some day. :'(

Jeff is this our first loss of a member??

Things like this make you step back and realize how quickly things change in this world.  I've been thinking a lot about that lately, we lost a friend in the Iraq Conflict in June.  Keep expecting him to call.

Duane will be sorely missed.

Here's to Duane, clink, would have liked to sat around the campfire and jawed with that fella awhile.  Thanks to Jeff, I guess we did.  Hope his family knows how much he meant to his FF buds.  Rest in peace, pard.  BWWilliams
