Is anyone else receiving an error message when trying to post. I get one frequently that says:
ispCPOmega
Error 500.
And someother stuff. I am running Windows XP With IE 7 on a dial-up connection.
I got the Error 500 when trying to make a post just a couple of days ago!
Hit the "Back" button and tried it again and all was OK!
I get that at times too. I just blame it on too much traffic from the chinese.
I just started getting a similar message, but it is code 404 and it is at work only. I asked tech coordinator he said it is the site, not him blocking me from viewing the ff, so help please.
Have tried chrome, IE, and Firefox , all get the Omega warning code 404
Thankfully I can still get it at home!
I'm still getting this error at work, and again visited with the tech person and he couldn't even access the site outside of our security. He said that the ff is blocking our ip address...please help I have withdrawal during my lunch!
If you send me a private message with the I.P. address that is blocked, I can look into it.
8) 8) 8) 8) 8) it works! Thank you Jeff
I just got it when I tried to log in.
I got it several times yesterday when trying to post or even preview.
Showed up here yesterday and stayed long enough for me to do a little testing. Couldn't get to the ff server at all, BUT, A ping message to forestryforum.com resulted in 3 valid responses, turnaround time 91 millisec. ping to the server ip address was identical. That would likely point to a server hangup, not a communications problem, not the ff web page itself. Maybe hackers hitting some other web page running on the same server ?
Network dos attack yesterday. The forestryforum has it's own dedicated server.
I just copied my reply and backed out for a while. When I returned later everything was OK. I pasted my reply, previewed, and posted as normal.
Last night I was a bit out of pocket so had to respond with my thumbs, who are not very good at replying to anything.
There was a large scale DOS attack on the network on which the Forestry Forum server resides. There was never a problem with our server, now was it a direct attack on us. The attack made connection very intermittent for a couple hours while the hosting company techs played blockypoo with the wide range of I.P.s causing the mischief.
As I also mentioned, the Forestry Forum is on a dedicated server, so, problems with another website on the same server can't happen here.
Wasn't aware that the forum runs on a dedicated server...I'm impressed, first class 8) Apparently an ip block lets a ping through, learn something new every day...
