I am surprised that no one has mentioned the Goat's cameo on a Super Bowl add.  Did I imagine it?  Did anyone else see it?

Well the CG fair ain't for everyone. I totally agree- sometimes the best entertainment is watching those that come. Lol. There are a lot, a lot of youngsters that dress like Pippi Longstocking and want to raise their non-traditional families in a "back to Nature/Gia" lifestyle. They farm an acre here or four acres. More power to them. But then there are lots of serious new farmers and homesteaders, and there are lots of off grid folks there too. I have found that MOFGA is great for those learning about organic gardening, heirloom plants, low impact forestry and such things. Personally I credit MOFGA and the CG Fair as a major factor in why Maine has the most astounding growth in the farming sector, organic production, and aG/forest entrenaprenures in the whole nation.

Other groups were there... Natl groups like World Wildlife Fed, American Chestnut society, ATFS, NRCS, USDA, Wolf reintroduction ppl, humane society, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H, Solar and Wind tech peeps, Maine Guides and Foresters and I forget whom all. Different groups, some with conflicting agendas but all behaving quite peaceably, as far as I saw.

I was there this year checking out timber framers, horse team logging, wood boilers and of course the heirloom  apple orchard. Talked to the folks from Kinneys Syrup House and came across a guy who moves buildings... Like seriously huge buildings. Wanted to get an idea of the work it would take to relocate an existing barn onto my property.

Had a good time... Not a true AG State Fair, but I didn't expect it to be either. Was really interested in the horse teams. Belgiums, Suffolk, Halflinger, Percherons... Made me want to go that route. But I gotta get my barn rebuilt before that. Lol!

It was discussed in the Sawmills and Milling Board.  Very funny.
