Title: Paneling
Post by: EZ on March 14, 2015, 11:18:10 AM
My little motor home was falling apart inside so this winter I gutted it and put new insulation in the walls and bought some paneling for it. Right now I have built new cupboards and counter for it and the new bathroom is in. What my question is the paneling is all warping. I have heat in there only when I'm working in there but even still it doesn't make a difference in the paneling. Not that I'm going to tear it all out but just wondering if any of you folks know why it did this.

Doing that because the paneling wood is drying out and is shrinking.  And maybe just one surface is drying and/or the other surface is doing the opposite.

Are you talking of plywood paneling, or wood strip paneling?

Yup, most likely it is a moisture issue.  The unsealed backside of the paneling may be absorbing moisture while the living area side (sealed) is not.  That conflict is probably causing your problem.
