It is snowing here and the ground is now covered. Yesterday I worked outside in sleet, snow, rain and occasionally bright sun. Odd, odd year. Fair amount of snow in the winter, not much run-off, creeks and rivers have been low all through it and now we are getting below freezing nights and snow.
I'm only an hour away and no snow here. It hasn't been below freezing at night here for a couple of weeks. Water table is very low.
I've been farming and the boss has been planting, but with how things look this year I'm not sure if we'll have something to make bales with or be fighting fires. I'm already seeing grass hoppers by the bunches.
I'm hoping for more moisture for darn sure.
Couple inches of snow here over the last few days but that isn't out of the ordinary for us. This time last year we had like 20" of fresh snow over a 3 day span.....
We had snow showers a couple of times today, the wind has been howling for two or three days forty plus mile per hour. I started the wood furnace again propane just dosen't cut it.
I relit my furnace yesterday and today firewood was frozen down.
