Title: Gearmatic 19 winch
Post by: Farmboy 96 on May 15, 2015, 01:18:58 PM
I was wondering if anyone here could tell me how to drain the fluid out of a gearmatic 19 winch. Theres a plug underneath it on the left side but theres no way to get a socket on it and a wrench would never work. Is there a special tool i need? Do i have to unbolt the winch and pull it off the skitter to get to it?

Ive also got one on the extension but there a plug underneath the winch and I didn't know if the extension and the winch itself is all one compartment or is they were separate.

Thanks Lumberjack 48. I can honestly tell you that these winches are finicky, when i first got the machine it took me like a month just to get the clutch bands clean and adjusted right. The brake cylinder blew apart made one heck of a mess. I don't know how many hours after school i spent trying to adjust it just right.
