Would any one of you know what size roller chain is on case 584. My chain broke today and need to find a repair link. Wonder if Tractor Supply would have them?
Logger, most roller chain has the size stamped on the side plates, clean them off good and check. Frank C.
Measure from pin to pin to obtain the pitch. Tractor Supply can supply the size you need. They may have to order. Surplus Center also stocks most sizes at reasonable prices. It is usually supplied in ten foot lengths or 100 foot rolls. Regards, Clark
Just so happens I have a couple packages of repair links laying here I just picked up from TSC. They have a good selection, even offset links. They come in a package of two marked "CountyLine".
I always check online before making my trip...my store doesn't do good on its inventory so a lot of times I call and make them go check.
Thanks all, I'll check with it gets light outside and probably just order some links. Going out of town for a few days so not in a big hurry to get them right away. First time it broke but looks like its been fixed a few times before.
I wouldn't use the TSC chain or links for anything 'mission critical'. I use the #50 to drive a few hydraulic pumps, and they don't last all that long. Maybe 60-80hrs?
For the purpose of prototyping or light load they're fine.
Maybe in an oil bath they'd go longer, but you're better off replacing with OE or at least name brand in your application.
