Title: wood hardness chart

i think i seen one one here from a sawmill company. anybody have one?

and with that you have the drying factor with some of the white oaks, walnuts and cherry, dead falls, wind blown for several years can rock your world, and add some knots and the ball game changes again, dry, pitchy pine can rock your world a little bit as well.

found a rock 1 1/2" into a pine log. shot sparks

Often the growth rate will have an effect too, such as slow grown red oak is not as hard as fast grown red oak.

Moisture content will also affect "hardness" which is measured by pressing a steel ball into the wood.
