Title: Weight of 230A TJ Forwarder
Post by: Horselog on July 09, 2015, 09:55:17 AM
I just bought a 230a single bunk forwarder and am looking for an exact weight for the truckers. I've seen numbers ranging from 16,000 to 23,000. 16,000 seems too low, I'm guessing it's 20-23,000. Anybody actually seen it on a scale? Or have an old brochure or something?  Yes I've looked at Ritchie Specs.

I can't see how you can get an exact weight without putting it on a scale. Ten tons +- a ton is a good estimate. It seems like different year models had different features, cabs, loaders, tires, bunks, all seem to be variable and can also be modified. It really should not matter that much to a trucker. You could always negotiate a price based on estimated weight and adjust as a percentage once the trucker gets the machine on a scale. A picture of the machine might help someone that has experience give you the best possible estimate. Whatever you do it would be nice to hear what the actual weight is and to see a picture of the machine.
