Title: Missouri amateur timber-framers?
Post by: MisterOzark on July 13, 2015, 02:19:39 PM
First post ever.  smiley_wavy
I live on 46 acres in the central-Missouri Ozarks. Lots of white and black oak, some red. A little ash. And I want to build my own timber frame home.
I took a workshop at Fox Maple School of Traditional Timber Framing this summer, with my dad, and we feel confident we can get 'er done. But looking to make connections with folks in our area who have done this and would either be willing to chat about it or swap some labor, if they need work on a project. Not looking for professionals... unless they want to donate a couple days of labor  :D
Probably will be next year before I start cutting joinery... gotta buy a mill and cut my logs first! Just thinking ahead.
