were you just using it?  does it have electric start?
Never seen anything like this except when starting a machine with leaky needle valve in carb.

If it was accidental, lucky it wasn't near or in a building.

I was not using it.  I think an ember from the burn barell blew over there and ignited something.  I didn't know it happened until the next day.  I did get lucky, it was actually close to the barn that has two years worth of firewood in it.  Yes it does (or did) have electric start.  Hard lesson learned.

Stick a new engine, pump, valve, and cylinder on that thing and get back to work!
Ok, you can put a coat of paint on it while you're at it.  ;)

It might not need all that .It obviously needs a new tire though.

Might be a good idea to either move the splitter or the burn barrel in the future.

Definitely going to need a tire unless that is its permanent home in which case a block of wood will do fine. It might surprise you how little it needs to be in working shape again.

Al had a good idea regarding the burn barrel. ;D I would salvage what I could but the aluminum engine block is surely junk along with the valve and hoses. The pump and ram might be rebuildable.

Not sure if it's the poor farmer kid in me or what but it doesn't look all that bad to me. Put on a new engine and go from them there. I've rebuilt several burned down pieces of equipment and you'd be surprised how well a hyd hose and ram can survive a fire.

I don't think it looks bad either, and it looks like it didn't get that hot over on the side where the ram is... I bet that ram is fine and all seals are ok,
I say a new engine, hoses and valve body, and you are up and running.

I agree that the ram likely is ok. The other tire looks ok so it didn't get too hot over there.
