Title: Stihl 025 saw, bar oil consumption rate
Post by: NYLoggerJim on December 14, 2015, 10:03:37 PM
Hello folks,

I recently picked up a used but in great condition Stihl 025 saw.  I cleaned it up, put on new chain and used it for the first time bucking a pile of 10" ash logs for firewood.  The bar oil consumption rate seems a bit low compared to my other (and much older saw).  I ran 6 tanks of gas through the 025 on Saturday, each time I refueled it, about 1/2 tank of bar oil was consumed.  I can't find any information about adjusting the oiling rate in the owner's manual nor can I find any adjustment screw on the saw so I believe the oiling rate is fixed.  Is there an oil rate adjustment and does the flow rate I described sound low?  Thanks for your help.
