I have a 460 with dual port and max flow air filter. I have been running it for about 6 months now. Some of my co-workers tell me I should be running a slightly richer fuel ratio? I've been running with 50:1. Anyone have any input on this?
That depends on what oil your running , has the cylider been ported also , etc ? If you use the Husqvarna synthetic oil and Hi octane fuel you should be ok . I use aviation gas in all my saws . Many of them , I run on the ragged edge rpm wise , Most are some what modded . Try to get gas without ethenol in it , that is more of a problem with @ strokes than 40 to 50 % oil mix.
I'm running Stihl synthetic oil and 91 octane most of the time. Occasionally high octane isn't available. No ported cylinder or anything else. Also, I don't have a tac, but should I/do I need to adjust the carb? It's running fine, and obviously alot more power, just want to be sure I'm getting everything out of it that I can.
I would have it checked with a tach , can you get fuel without ethanol ? Run atleast 89 octane .
