Title: Is this a good bar for my need
Post by: billbobtlh on November 03, 2004, 05:15:08 AM
I just bought a 20" bar for my 066. I also got a 3/8" skip tooth chain and standard. 3/8".
My question is the Duromatic what I should have gotten?
My 36" is a Rollomatic and is too big for most of my cutting.
It has been years since I had a solid nose bar.I guess the chain will need to be looser when cutting. This will be used for medium sized bucking and ripping with my mini mill.
The DanG thing cost 65 dollars :'(

Please let me know if I should return it or just start cutting. I need to act today.
Thanks

I didn't know a hard nose bar was still available. Only uses I would have for one would be a restoration or cooking hamburgers on when we forgot the flipper. Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures

I would opt for the

rollomatic (http://www.stihlusa.com/chainsaws/rollomatic.html)

unless you are cutting in sandy or really dirty wood.
