Title: F90
Post by: LaegersATC500R on May 30, 2016, 10:50:28 AM
I found a F90 that's been sitting for a couple of years. The only problem is it won't rotate. The transport chock is out. The hydraulic motor does operate in both directions. Where else should I look?

I would check and see if a few teeth are knocked out of the big gear that the motor mashes into. Also check and see if the key ways sheard on the drive motor and the motors rotateing but the gear isn't. After that Iam stumped I have a F-90 and it is a pretty simple loader to work on. I once had a 110 and it was worn enough that it would skip over the teeth and a few hours of welding and reshaping by grinding the teeth it was good as new.

Thanks for the pointers Autocar. All checks out OK. What I found was the top of the large gear plate was rusted to the turret. I wrapped a strap around the boom and pulled it side ways with the loader to break it free. I then used the foot controls to move it from left to right until it moved freely. Greased it up good and moves fine now.
