Title: Restoring a 1963 Cancar
Post by: longlegger on June 07, 2016, 10:45:32 PM
I thought you old timers would get a kick out of this, it is a 1963 Cancar Garret. It is a C-4 A serial number 350 transfer case serial number is 10, it has an 8A gearmatic winch. I went through everything start to finish, found that Davco in Maine had emergency brake cables and wheel seals. It is completely restored, everything original except for the seat (comfort comes first) and the alternator. I plan on pulling firewood and some aspen this winter. Let me know what you think. Look at my gallery for pictures.

A friend that I buy Hemlock timber from has an old one sitting in the weeds.
He is 92 and stopped using it about 7 or 8 yrs ago.
it still runs and is usable.

I had one for many years, great little skidder and real simple to work on.

That sure does look nice. Was the metal for around the engine in good shape? Lucky it was even all there.
