Title: Tapio 400 stroke harvester saw problem
Post by: greg p on January 22, 2017, 10:27:04 AM
can anyone give me advice on a tapio 400 stroke harvester? I purchased a used one but do not have any manuals with it. cannot get the saw to cut properly (stalls out in wood) and blows seals on the motor. assuming it is a pressure problem but do not understand how to set up properly. everything else on the harvester works fine. thanks

Case drain lines plugged or saw motor bad . Check the saw motor by measuring the flow out of the case drains .

thanks,i had already replaced saw motor(very expensive)so I will check the drain lines.also wondering if the two against each other restrictor valves could cause over pressure in the motor.thanks again

I have the same head.  There is a valve that may be bad on it.

There is only one valve you can adjust on the head . You need someone with the pressure gauges too plug into it.  It should be set at 60 bar.  I replaced mine . It was stuck at 160 bar.  I had nothing but trouble with my saw motor since we got it
