Title: New to woodworking.
Post by: mattyboy88 on January 23, 2017, 10:22:25 AM
Because I have an abundance of sinker cypress, I decided to start making tables. Some tips and pointers will be welcome. Here's a pic of my first couch table. (https://forestryforum.com/gallery/albums/userpics/33242/image~18.jpg?easyrotate_cache=1485184867)

By sinker cypress, do you mean old logs that have been in the river or lake underwater for decades?  How did you get that?  Did you have a sawer mill it for you?  Looks really good.  Your only limit is your imagination.

Yes. I got my divers certifacation and a good sonar. Then you go hunting. The cypress is by far the prettiest in my opinion.

And yes on someone milling it as well. I had to take it to a fella with a woodmizer.
