Title: What happened to the Links Dir?
Post by: SwampDonkey on December 05, 2004, 04:33:08 PM
Hmmm, I clicked on the links directory and all I see is the submission part where ya choose a category to submit your link in.  :-/

No, as a member you ALSO see a submit your link. Choose the category of links you wish to see. Before, it loaded ALL of them. Now, you pick the section you want to see. :)

Sure ya can. Select the category and it will list the links in that cat. Should not be any browser issues. At least wouldnt think so.

Give me a moment and I'll do a fix for other browsers.

Won't work under Firefox 1.0 big guy, look at the add url button to the right in the Search Category section. When you select an item in the list within Firefox 1.0 it doesn't open the link as it should, just sits idle. Make it a GO button. ;)

So, I'm not the only one.  I was confused by it also. Jeff, I  think I prefered it the other way. You know... before you fixed it.   :)  It used to be when I clicked on Links it just gave me the whole list no questions asked. If I want to submit something, I would expect to do extra steps.

Not that simple to make it a go button because it is threaded within the software. I did add a view all links button for you now, so it will look as it always looked for you.

Yes, you likes it better before when there wasn't hardly anything in it. What do you do if we add two hundred links? Come back the next day to see the loaded page? :)

Jeff,
I don't think you are seeing the same thing we see when we click on the link. I appreciate what you said about 200 + links in the future, but I would rather have that than what I see now.
Even though I now know how to get to the links I want, it throws me for a mental loop when that screen first comes up. something about those words " Add a new link"  so close to the box I want.

It now looks like this on Internet Explorer, (it didn't the other day), except worse.

Kinda confusing for a minute.  Once you click it straightens itself out.

Actually the first " Add a new link" is just to the right of  "Click to view all links".  Like cktate has it in the second set.   The closeness is the confusing part I think.
Jeff,  could you make it so the pull down menu was open  with the categories listed when the page opened ?

I changed it back until I think of a better way.
