Title: Norwood winch
Post by: Rob30 on April 15, 2017, 06:26:29 PM
Anyone have experience with a Norwood winch? It is a capsan style 3pth winch. In here videos it looks like it works well, but slow. They also have it on what looks to be a 40hp tractor. I have 2 70hp tractors. The price is pretty reasonabe though. It is about 500 cheaper then a used regular 3pth winch. I don't need one right now but I will by summer.

I've never used one, but I have seen one. It seemed way too lightly built for me to consider any serious use, even behind my 33 HP tractor. (I would guess the tractor in their video is smaller than mine.) It would be seriously undermatched to your 70HP tractor. Unless you are just doing a few small logs, I'd consider one of th eregular logging winches, sized for your tractor.
