I'm asking for autocar who is at a friends house in the booneys and no internet access. the problem is with the friends 2003 or so dodge 3500 with a 5.9 cummins and a manual tranny. the problem is it will only start with it in gear and the clutch out. it lurches forward and starts. if its in neutral or the clutch is in it just whirls and whirls and never fires. any suggestions??
sounds like a dodge to me :D sorry I have one to :-X it maybe a safety switch on the clutch or the shifter maybe a broken wire
I have a 98 3500 manual, but never heard of such thing. A 2003 might be different. Agree with coxy, look for the switch on the pedal, not sure if it's inside the cab or under the hood. If that switch shorts out, it can do weird things. Just sounds odd, that it turns over in neutral but won't fire.
