Title: oval office floor
Post by: bakerhardwoods on August 14, 2017, 11:44:39 AM
In the last week I've seen some pictures of the Oval Office floor when it was emptied for renovations.  The floor has an interesting pattern of light wood (quarter sawn white oak and walnut).  I've read that the floor was done in this pattern during the Reagan administration and redone during the George W Bush years.  My question is, what kind of walnut is it?  Being as Reagan was from California, I wonder if it maybe is not ordinary black walnut like we have in the Midwest.   There are pictures of the floor at the twitter link below.
