Title: Difference between 066 Mag and plain 066??
Post by: Straubies on December 27, 2004, 07:31:26 PM
I was just wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between an 066 Mag and a plain 066. Is there a difference between the displacement or is the mag just like being "West Coast/ "Walkerized??
         Any information would be appreciated!
 Thanks,

I'm (almost certain) that the porting is different on the two models.

I was told years ago by a Stihl rep that the only difference was that the 066 Mag had the dual-port muffler.

When you could buy a 066 or a 066 MAG. in Canada , the difference were the mag.had a dual port muffler and the carb was different,it had a limiter in it.The jugs are the same each year for the both but did come in different styles like no decompressure on the old saws

Thanks guys for the responses.  I knew there had to be a difference between the saws.
