Title: M6 Turbosawmill Milling (Tree ID) (Now with Photos)
Post by: otherguy on December 10, 2017, 09:25:14 PM
I posted this video to YouTube, most of it is sped up for time sake, but I wanted someone to look at the wood and verify that it is Ash.

You can see the wood at 2:15, 3:50, 5:20 and 10:30 so you can skip around.  I got the log from a co-worker and the people that cut it down said it was Ash.  I am not saying it isn't Ash, it just that I have never seen Ash with stripes like this before, the Ash I have always seen is a light color.

Thanks.

Unusual for sure, color wise, some spalt.  But, it is ash.

Nice mill, thanks for sharing,  and it looks like you have a good handle on running it,
