I have built a model of my frame and asked my wife this question. When putting up a timber frame building. What end do you start from? Back to front? Or if needing to come from the side to place the bents left to right. Or do you go North to south east to west. Is there a protocol to this?
Each TF project begins with a design, in my view it is in the design phase, that the general scheme for raising should be considered. One must keep in mind the contours and obstructions of the lot will limit the movement and placement of both materials and machines. So I think a rigid concept for raising is of limited use. Also keep in mind the under scarfed beam is placed first and joinery choices can matter in order of assembly.
