Well I finally had some time Saturday to get a couple benches put together and finished. The slabs came from a maple tree I cut down from a friends yard that died and the legs from the Rite Leg Co.

I still have 2 more benches to get together using some cedar slabs.
Those look really nice ,are they for indoors or outdoors? Any chance you can post a pic of the underside where the legs are fastened?
how long allowed to dry?
Real pretty benches. I prefer the black to the red legs with that particular piece of wood but that's just me.
Any idea what they will sell for or are they for gifts or personal use?
That's some purdy spalt! Good job, finish?
I used tung oil on the finish. Still have a couple more coats to put on. They have 2 coats on right now and have been drying for 24 hours.
The legs are actually orange that match Oklahoma state university colors. Anything with orange sells better here. The other set is forest green Should be able to get over $350 for benches. The one with the splaying should get quite abut more. A lot of it depends on character of the wood and what they look like.

I would not put them out in direct sun but on a porch should be fine or indoors.
Those look pretty good. Wish I had my shop together so I could do mine. >:(
How did you get those top 2 mounted on the ceiling? ;D Epoxy or lag bolts? :D :D :D :D :D :D
