Guys, I thought here might be a good place to start,
I have a moisture actuated exhaust fan in my sauna/washroom basement. The sauna heat kills the 12 volt fan.
I would like to install a 120 volt fan and still have it run off the moisture meter built into the switch.
Where can i buy a 120 volt 5" fan?
Any help is appreciated

Heat is your problem. Make sure the fan whatever the voltage is made to run at higher temperatures.
I understand heat is the issue.
Where can i find a replacement that would fit and be heat resistant?

You could also put the fan at the outflow end of the duct and allow it suck the air out instead of blowing it out. This gets the fan further from the heat. Even though the air in the duct is going to be nearly the same temperature, the fan will still benefit from being away from the it's big enemies.
Why not put the fan on the inlet vent so it is as cool as outside?

I now have a source of fans. I will contact them this week and see what i can rig up.
The intake is from upstairs in the log cabin. My idea was to circulate the hot moist air from the shower/sauna to the upstairs in the winter and I then turn the handle and exhaust outside for the summer.
Would something like this work.

In a DH kiln, it is unlikely that you will need to run the fan in the wintertime. The building heat losses will use up an extra heat. So, you only need warm weather operation, and will not need heat in the sauna. Keep in kind that the kiln air is somewhat acidic, so you would be inviting corrosion. Also, when you pump air into the sauna, there will be an equal amount that leaves that room and goes into....the house?
my Sauna and bathroom are side by side in the basement of my log cabin, access is from outside into the basement, total area is 16'x16' ICF basement. I have an 4" duck with a T running outside and the T runs up into the living area. I can direct the exhaust air outside for the summer and into the living quarters in the interior to help keep the moisture level up. I builtin the exhaust fan in the sauna, which i now know was a mistake as the heat cooks the fan.
I was hoping to find a fan to re and re with, that can handle the heat

I just noticed this link and have ordered a 4" fan. I am going to give it a try.
