Title: New Tool for Tramp Metal
Post by: Andy White on May 13, 2013, 03:11:48 PM
UPS just dropped off my new toy! Hopefully this will help with my recent tramp metal locating binge. It is a Bounty Hunter Nail Finder. I just hid an 8d nail under 4- 1" oak boards, and it picked it up every pass. The mfgr. claims it will read to 8" in wood. We will see.        Andy

If you want to test it, but down eight 1" boards and put a nail under them, see if it will pick the nail up?

It should go that deep, I have a Garret 250 that  will easily go thru 8-10 inches.
