Anyone here have and use a Holland Grill?

I had one given to me a few days ago and used it for the first time tonight.

Seemed to take forever for 4 hamburger patties to cook.

Got any good tips for the most efficient use of the grill?

Is it gas or charcoal?
Not familiar with that brand name (or is Holland a style of a particular design ?).

Funny you should bring this up, I was going to ask the same question, my aunt bought some raffle tickets a month or so ago and put my name on a few of them, guess what, I won a $690 Holland grill!  I haven't had a lot of time to use it yet, definitely a learning curve compared to the grill we bought last year (that my step son has now cobbed onto) and yes it is a LOT slower cooking but I have to admit, no flare ups and very juicy meat, however my wife likes well done/crispy meat and wants our old one back.  Personally I'm used to cooking with charcoal so it doesn't bother me, she just wants it done fast.  ::)

sounds like it could be a nice grill, if I understand right it is a charcoal grill, leave the lld off, with full air flow coming up from the bottom, them rascals will get hot and cook faster, send a pic if you can,  david
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,

The Holland grill is a gas grill.

There is a tray that sits above the flame and water is added to the tray and there is a small opening all the way around this tray to let the heat up to the cooking area!

The idea of the water tray is to catch all of the drippings and prevent flare-ups.
When you're done grilling, open the drain valve to drain the water tray into a pail or onto the ground!

About 3-4 inches above the water tray is the cooking surface!

It's a very well-made grill, must just take some getting used to!

Found some good information on cooking with the Holland Grill.

I printed out the "Cooking Time Chart"!

Chuck I was wondering if you've found it takes a lot longer than the cooking chart shows?  I've even plugged the vents on the back of ours with tinfoil, still takes a good 30 mins. to grill a burger, not complaining at all, they are juicy just a lot slower than our old grill.  Like I said my wife likes stuff done crispy and fast, me I'm used to an hour and a half for a good steak done over charcoal, it about killed her tonight to spend 45 mins. cooking 2 steaks  :D.  By the way, they were DELISH as Raider Bill would say.
