Mike P and RustReaper will be on hand at the big Buckley engine and tractor show in Michigan this weekend. If you get a chance to go, GO!  :D

Its still up in the air, but Tammy and I may leave thursday night and take all our saws and engines and stuff and do the tent thing while we exhibit for the first time. Depends on whether Tammy can get a way from her new job for one day and if we can get a dog sitter for 3 days.  I hope so!

I'll bet that would be a fun adventure. :)

Maybe we'll see you over there tonight.  We're leaving momentarily.  Have to stop in Lake City and look at an outdoor furnace first then on to Buckley

Saw Jeff B, and Mike from Rust Reaper at Buckley.  Visited with Jeff for a bit as he and Tammy were setting up.  Dad, Zach and I are going back again tomorrow instead of going to Oakley and I hope to see Jdunmyer.  I didn't make it to the wood shop today, and didn't see all the old engine stuff that I wanted to.  Almost too much stuff to see in a day at a relaxed pace

Had a good time at Buckley although the first night was rather rough. Flat air mattress!  I'm still sore. We introduced a bunch of people to the Forestry Forum. Hope some show up although a lot of the old engine crowd dont do the computer thing. There was tremendous interest in the display Tammy and I put together. The Barker Rim Saw and the Unitractor were really first time seeings for most of this crowd and the crowd was biiiggggg!!!!

We had a great neighbor and made a very good new friend. THis is Clarence and some of his hit-n-miss's.

We shared his Coffee every Morning and his fire every night. Here is member Harold and wife and Tammy around the fire on Friday.

We spent some time exploring the huge Flea Market and got a chance to talk at length with Keith Weade of Bremen Indiana. Hee is Keith and some of his Benches created from wood nobody else wants.

We took an extensive tour of the big wood shop on site. Mrs jdunmyer gave us the grand tour. I swear, she knows everything about everything when it comes to old woodworking machines. Here she demonstrates on a big Lathe that used to be in the State home in Traverse City.

Here is jdunmyer talking to Tammy about the engine he is in charge if that runs the big overhead driveline shaft.

Rust Reaper was on hand at the show and from what Mike says, him and da mrs really enjoyed the show. THey had a great spot over looking the old tractor parking area.

We had a great time at the show.  One of our grandchildren was there with his other grandparents and it was great to see them.  We saw a lot of other folks that we know as well, and met many more.

We sold some Rust Reaper, which is always nice, made some contacts with potential Rust Reaper Dealers.  One of our neighbors used RR on his GM van door hinges and became an instant fan and promotor, saying he had tried everything else and the Reaper worked immediately.

We and saw some folks from the Forum.  Thanks, Jeff, Corley 5 and Harold.  My apologies to anyone that I missed thanking.  We didn't get to see Jim Dunmeyer and his wife.  We made it to the wood shop, only once, and missed them.

This was the first show that Jeanette and I have done.  We were in the flea market which, at this show, has a wide variety of stuff.  We found that the folks on either side of us were great:  friendly, helpful and good neighbors.  The dust, wind, and coal smoke were a challenge on Sunday.  Not bad for us, but they really raised havoc some of the other vendors.  The coal smoke kind of reminded me of being a kid, when a lot of people heated with coal and at certain times that smoke would hang around.

Next year we may go as exhibitors with a tractor or two.  In that case, we would promote Rust Reaper at the exhibit and work with a Dealer in the flea market to sell it.

Thanks,

Mike
