Well, after turning 47 last month, I came to the conclusion my arms were getting shorter because I couldn't see the "Big Paper" on Sundays!!
Wife set me up with an appointment to see the Doc to check my eyes and now I'm wearing readers! I still have 20/10 over 5' away, but he said there was no gorilla blood in me and my arms were finished growing. I'm also too short to stand up and lay the paper on the floor.
The good thing is I can see the 32" marks on my tape again!!

I had readers for a year or so... just about 3 weeks back I got new glasses to see far off with, and I tell you its the best thing since sliced bread. I can see things again, like the words on a road sign.

I just got new glasses last month. The doc said not much has changed in 30 years, but the new lenses are a little difference.  She said I had stronger eyes than most and I can see right up close still. I am near sighted anyway, but you eventually loose the real close over time. :) I can see the calculator within 6-8 inches with the bare eye. With the glasses not focused good until a foot away. Weird. :D Also with these new eyes, it seems I'm over 7 foot tall and can touch telephone wires. LOL :D

Yep! That's me too Goose! I told my wife I'm still 20/10 and she said  "well I'm 20/20!!" I told her 20/20 was decent but if she was looking at a coon up ina tree, she couldn't tell whether it was a sow or a boar. I told her I could!! Then she said I looked better to her about 100yds away!

Yep. Know the feeling. At age 31 I had 13/13 vision which is way better than 20/20. At age 41 I needed something to help with up close. At 51 also needed some assistance at distances. Now 53 and don't wear my glasses logging but sometimes when I look up at a tall tree trying to identify the leaves it just don't work.

Course when I hit 50 a little blue pill. Never mind. Probably should not post.
Give me a new saw chain and I can find you a rock in a heartbeat.
