The wife asked me if I could make a growth scale for her nieces. Sure (I always say sure even if I'm not sure). I just took a pine 1x8 and cut it down to a 1x6. Spent a while drawing it up in the computer and put it in the cnc router. I then burnt it with a cutting torch turned down low and planed off the scorched surface.

Planning on some tall girls!  I see basketball or volleyball in their future, or excellent leverage with a golf club!  Oh by the way, nice work ;D

They look nice. I do hope each niece will get her own. Something for each one to hang onto. Each time a girl is measured a date should be added.

what software do you use to design the stuff you cut on the CNC?

That looks great, Jake! :)
My M-I-L still has a old paper one in her kitchen on the fridge. It has been hanging for at least 15 years with no use. Now her first great-grandson just turned ten months old, so pretty soon it will be back in use.

Mainly inkscape and microsoft paint, but I am always trying out different free software. Inkscape actually works pretty good.

I like it.  That will come in handy real soon wont it ;)
I cant figure out which one I like better: working with wood or making the tools to work with wood.
