When me and my buddy started cutting this year, his uncle lent him a 137 Husqvarna. During use, the triangular cover come loose and ended up falling off. After that piece come off, the muffler pretty much rattled itself apart. Inside of that style muffler, there are two tubes that the studs for the muffler go in. After my buddy quit cutting, he left that saw at my house. I always took it with me, but really didn't use it. Maybe 3 times bucking logs in my driveway. Used it once out in the woods when I hit dirt and dulled the Super2. Go figure, the one time I used it in the woods, one of the studs wiggled itself loose and fell out, along with that tube thing. I've been searching and searching, but I can't even find a diagram for it on google, let alone figure out what it's called. I bought a heat shield for this saw off of Chainsawr  (who's service and pricing is impressive!)  and the correct style muffler off of eBay. The muffler did not come with these tubes like I figured they would. If anyone could tell me what that piece is called, it would definitely be appreciated, and even better, if someone would have one and a stud they'd be willing to part with, I'd pay top dollar for it. I just want to fix this saw and make it right since it's a loaner. Thanks guys!

They have a muffler assembly for it too.
price seems fair,

I saw that. There's two different styles. There's one that just has two long bolts that just run through it with no external cover or wrap around heat shield. Of course, I have the least common one...

it's for PN H338NS. Most of the diagrams don't even list the part. Don't know if they're supposed to be another part of the muffler or what. But if anyone has a muffler with this PN. I'll buy it yesterday

The little 142 Husky I have has the same style muffler as you described. Not sure if it's the same part # but may be as they're pretty close siblings. Does the saw have a green gas cap? If so it has a catalytic muffler, so this could help narrow the search some.

It's the same one. I think it does have the green cap. I looked all night last night and the whole muffler is discontinued. I ordered that heat shield off of chainsawr and it was listed for a 142. I think I'm gonna have to get the current replacement style muffler. If my buddy's uncle gets mad, then to hell with him. At least I'm trying to make it right and not send him back a trashed saw.

If there is a current replacement that is non cat get that. Either way the saw may need to be tuned. These saws have the splined carb needles that requires a special tool or making one.

If you ran the saw with the muffler loose check the piston, as they can crack if the muff is loose, when you shut it off it can suck cold air in on the piston and crack it.  My Grandpa had that happen to his(now my) 350.
